The Health protocol for players and participants on COVID-19-related rules, practices and restrictions during their stay in Latvia following the introduction of a four-week lockdown
Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Latvia, the government has declared an emergency situation for a three month period, providing for additional preventive measures. Nearly all stores, entertainment venues and schools will be shut, and services suspended. A stay at home order will be in effect from 8 PM until 5 AM.

Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Latvia, the government has declared an emergency situation for a three month period, providing for additional preventive measures. Nearly all stores, entertainment venues and schools will be shut, and services suspended. A stay at home order will be in effect from 8 PM until 5 AM.
FIDE has worked closely with the local Organizers and Latvian authorities on establishing this Protocol which determines rules and practices for players and all participants during the event.

- Safety Precautions
- Symptoms of Covid-19
- Testing
- Tournament Hall, Spectators & Access Zones
- Response in COVID-19 Positive Cases
All players and accompanying persons are strongly advised to carefully read and follow the protocol which has been designed following the most recent coronavirus restrictions issued by the Latvian government.
Breaking the rules of the Protocol may lead to disqualification of a player or even termination of the Tournament.
