Following the introduction of a four-week lockdown which begins on Thursday, 21st October, an application has been made to the Latvian Government for the exemption of the 2021 FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss and Women’s Grand Swiss from the restrictions.
The organisers of the 2021 FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss and Women’s Grand Swiss are committed to ensuring the health and safety of players and participants at the forthcoming tournament and will closely follow the measures for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
FIDE and the organisers would like to assure players and participants that we are doing our best to host the event in Riga in a secure and still comfortable way.
